Congratulations to our Ballina team who all performed well at the Mayo Community Games swimming competition and has a very successful return by Ballina and the Quay, after many years away.

A great day for the Wiacek family with Jakcub Wiacek (50m Butterfly U14) winning Gold and his sister Lena claiming silver (50m backstroke U12).

A similar tale of success for the Butler family with Jack (50m Freestyle U16)  and Aoife (50m Freestyle U12) both claiming gold medals.

Emily Carolan also claimed gold in 50m Freestyle U16.

Flori Garvin won bronze in the 50m breast stroke at U12.

A great performance all round as Emily, Lena, Flori and Jack are all underage again next year.

In the relay, Aoife, Lena and Flori were joined by Ciara Doyle and collected Silver in the U13 Relay. All 4 girls are underage again in 2027 and will be keen to go one better. 

Indeed, Lena, Flori and Ciara will still be U13 in 2028 so performed past all expectations.

A great experience for all and Ballina now have 5 swimmers competing for an All Ireland medal in July in Kilkenny. 

There they will joining our 3 Ballina gymnasts for a great sporting weekend.
